Runaway Bay on Leesville Lake

Located on picturesque Leesville Lake, which is smaller and more private than popular Smith Mountain Lake, is a relatively new upscale residential community aptly named Runaway Bay.
The Runaway Bay Residential Community consists of 758 acres located on the Lake, which is in Bedford and Campbell Counties in Virginia - and conveniently located about 20 miles south of Lynchburg, 45 miles east of Roanoke and 45 miles north of Danville.
Adding to its charm, Runaway Bay has a plethora of community amenities including: a pleasant community pavilion, tennis court, walking trails, gazebo, ponds with fountains and benches , boat launch ramp and day docks. There is also street lighting, underground utilities, fiber optic cable in street for future
TV/internet service.
For the convenience of its residents, it also has a fenced and locked boat/trailer storage area.
Urban in its amenities, residents at Runaway Bay can still enjoy the feeling of living in a rural setting as there is an abundance of wildlife in and around the area. Wildlife that you may see includes deer, wild turkey, fox, racoons, wood chucks, geese, ducks, a large variety of other birds.
This boutique development has 299 home sites, at least half of which are waterfront lots, many just begging to be built on. All the lots have water access and those without their own dock have access to boat ramps, slips, and winter storage area. There are four large coves on this serene Lake with "No Wake" zones. To make lake access easier, boat ramps were installed and deeded to the property owners along the streets.
With only 61 houses been built so far, and -although upscale- because it is still a very affordable, Runaway Bay is a 'Hidden Gem' for anyone looking to relocate, or retire... or maybe even buy or build that special lakefront vacation home.
