Hard to believe, but in a few weeks – school’s out! Time to think about what will be your family summer retreat destination!

It is not too early to start planning for that all-important family destination. Many travelers already have theirs booked! But if you are one of those last minute travel shoppers still looking, you might consider Vail, Colorado.

Although Vail is best known as a popular ski resort, it should not be overlooked as a family summer retreat. It offers an endless array of outdoor activities for all ages.

Mountain bikes are a great way to explore the area and even get up a mountain. Visitors can purchase a lift ticket to board the Eagle Bahn and Gondola One with their mountain bikes and head up Vail Mountain. There are miles of bike trails winding across the ski runs. Whether you are a first timer or an expert rider, there are trails to match your ability – making it a great family-fun activity.

In addition, there is hiking, rafting, kayaking, golf, fishing and horseback riding.
